Reason Shad Gaspard was Not in the Rumble

From: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Shad Gaspard was not selected as a participant for the Royal Rumble because of his lack of improvement. John Laurinaitis met with Gaspard and told him WWE officials are not impressed with his progress. The general feeling backstage is that Gaspard’s inability to improve could hurt his tag partner JTG’s stance with the company unless they have plans to use him as a singles wrestler.

Gaspard’s poor performance at house shows could be the reason Cryme Tyme has loss so many televised matches.
