Avoiding the grip of death
March 21, 2008

Undertaker has tried for weeks to get his hands on his WrestleMania opponent, World Heavyweight Champion Edge, but has been unsuccessful in his attempts. This Friday on SmackDown, The Deadman is sure to be out for revenge when he takes on ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero. The Ultimate Opportunist will certainly be watching closely to gain any advantage he can for their title match at The Granddaddy of Them All. Is this match another scheme concocted by Edge and SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero? With Chavo soon set to face an unknown challenger in a title match – the winner of the 24-Man WrestleMania Battle Royal – is it wise for the champion to get in the ring with The Deadman?

Last week on SmackDown, John Morrison stamped his ticket to WrestleMania XXIV and clinched the final spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match when he defeated fellow WWE Tag Team Champion The Miz. Then on Tuesday in an ECW Six-Man Tag Match, the champions suffered defeat, when Festus pinned The Miz. The two rivals turned partners will need to get back to cohesion this Friday night when they put the title on the line against Jesse & Festus. Will Miz & Morrison co-exist to keep the gold, or will the Biscuits ‘n’ Gravy pairing find a way to become WWE Tag Team Champions, making their own history before WrestleMania?

In the ongoing SmackDown Diva Competition, Maryse was eliminated last week, paving the way for Cherry, Eve, Michelle McCool and Victoria to move closer to winning a custom-made Beverly Hills Chopper. This Friday, will strength or technique prevail when the Divas go up against each other in an Arm Wrestling Competition? Who is your favorite Sexiest Woman on Television? One Diva will be eliminated this Friday according to your votes. So remember, the power is yours, don’t forget to text your favorite Diva’s name to 44993!

Last Friday on SmackDown, Batista was within seconds of capturing the United States Championship in a No Holds Barred Match against MVP. But after The Animal’s actions against Umaga earlier on Raw, the Samoan Bulldozer retaliated last Friday with a Samoan Spike that cost Batista the gold. Batista is set to kick-off action this week on Friday Night SmackDown. What message will The Animal be looking to send as he gets ready to face Umaga in the big Raw vs. SmackDown battle for brand supremacy at WrestleMania XXIV?

Tune in to Friday Night SmackDown at 8/7 CT on The CW Network to find out the answers to all these questions and more!
