“We were all stuck at home, and the whole world was in chaos. It was a tough time for everyone, and I think that’s why it took a little longer for people to catch on to Matt’s talent.”
The Rise of Matt Hardy
Early Days and AEW Debut
Matt Hardy, the son of legendary wrestler Ric Flair, made his debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2020. However, his journey to stardom was not without its challenges. As Dreamer pointed out, the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the wrestling industry, causing many events to be canceled or postponed. The pandemic led to a decline in attendance and viewership, making it difficult for new talent to gain traction.
The crowd erupted in cheers as the music of the iconic theme song “Hardy Boyz” played, and the entire arena was bathed in a sea of red and black, the signature colors of the Hardy Boyz.
The Return of the Hardy Boyz
The Hardy Boyz, consisting of Jeff and Matt Hardy, had been absent from WWE for nearly a decade.
