Former WWE star Joey Matthews (a.k.a. Joey Mercury) has decided to retire from professional wrestling business.
In recent weeks he was trying to create buzz for a possible return to WWE, but it was reported that the company had no interest in him. He is at the crossroads and believes it’s time for him to decide what he wants to do with his life. Matthews has spent his life doing nothing but wrestling and feels that now is the time to determine what direction to take in life and to let go of things in his past.
Matthews was scheduled to appear an indy show last week, but pulled out.
