Murdoch’s Sudden Release Still a Mystery

sources: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Dusty Rhodes pushed to bring Trevor Murdoch to SmackDown last year because he and others recognized his talent. After finally being moved to SmackDown in the Supplemental Draft, the feeling was that Murdoch was going to be better off on the blue brand with Michael Hayes booking him instead of Brian Gewirtz, who didn’t do too much with him on Raw. That’s obviously off the cards now due to his sudden release from the company last Thursday. Still no word yet on why Murdoch was released, although a number of people were said to be mildly surprised. On another note, his profile page has been removed from WWE.com.
